How to build training templates

By default, Wombat requires date obtained and expiry date for all trainings. If you would like to collect additional information, you can do so by building a template.

Here is an example of a driver’s license template. Let’s build it together

  1. Click Admin in the bottom left corner.

  2. Select Field groups, and then click the Create Field Group button in the top right-hand corner.

  3. Enter in the template name, description, the minimum and maximum number of groups.

    • This allows it to be repeatable if required.

  4. Once done, click create. You will now be taken to the builder. Drag and drop the required fields.

  5. Once all looks good click save, then click the build icon to publish this template for use.

Let’s add Driver’s License as a Training Type in the Matrix and test out our new template.

  1. Click People, Select Training and Certs Matrix, add a new training.

  2. Enter the name, the training type, select whether it has an expiry date and can be shared with external users.

  3. Enter the estimated cost and hours if applicable, details, and then select the training form.

  4. Find the new Driver's License template.

  5. Click create. We’ll now find this training in the matrix and make it mandatory for all employees.

We’re going to update this training for William the Worker.

  1. In the Current Training and Certs tab, we’ll click on the Driver’s License status pill.

  2. Click add new record.

  3. Enter the expiry date, date obtained, province issued, driver’s license number, and

  4. Upload a picture of the front and back.

This training would have also been on William’s to do list, and he could have updated it directly. Let’s see this again if he filled it out in the field.
