Assigning Workflows by Roles
We’re excited to announce that we’ve now added the ability to assign a workflow by role. This means if someone new takes over a role, the form will still follow the right steps, and you won’t have to make any changes.
Each step in the workflow can be configured to go to a specific role, users from another section of the form, supervisor of another section, or specific users.
Let's take a look at an example using the Incident Report Workflow form.
The first section is to be filled out by the employee reporting the incident. No workflow needs to be set up on this first step.
The second step is the manager's section.
To ensure it goes to the manager of the person in step one, highlight the section,
Then go to the workflow step.
Select supervisor of user from previous step, then select employee section.
The third step is for the Joint Health and Safety Committee. The members of this committee could change. Rather than adding the people who are currently in the committee we can use the role function. Select workflow, specific role, and then select the joint health and safety committee.
The last step is to the president. This workflow can be assigned to a particular person. If you click on workflow, we can select specific user and select the user.
Once all looks good click save and publish.
